Frequently Asked Questions
We are a global movement focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. As a movement named after Mary the mother of Jesus and shaped by Christian values, our movement consists of people from all walks of life who offer their goods, skills, time, or prayer in support of our mission. MMI is an inclusive and diverse charity looking to recruit talented individuals of all faiths and none to support our mission.
The foundations and origins Mary’s Meals are rooted in the Catholic faith, and we are proud of the role that faith plays in Mary’s Meals today, but you don’t need to be a person of faith to work with us. Many people across the Mary’s Meals movement are motivated by their faith to join us, others have different motivations, but we are all united in our desire to play our own small part in reaching some of the world’s poorest children.
We have confidence in the innate goodness of people, and we believe that everyone is capable of contributing to our mission whatever their backgrounds or beliefs. We ask all representatives of MMI to be respectful of each other and to recognise the unique contribution we are all making to this important work.
