Our thoughts and prayers are with all those in Syria and Turkey who have been affected by the two powerful earthquakes (registering 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude) which hit both countries in the space of 12 hours today.

Sadly, the number of confirmed deaths continues to rise and, with many thousands more injured or trapped beneath the rubble, it will be some time before the full scale of these devastating incidents can be assessed. Mary’s Meals was relieved to hear that all staff members at Dorcas - our valued school feeding partner in Syria - are safe and well. We hope to have an update on the children we serve as soon as the situation becomes clearer and schools are able to reopen.

Our deepest sympathies remain with the people in both countries who have so suddenly and unexpectedly lost family members, neighbours, colleagues and friends.
